Charlotte came in 8th in the 100 Best Places to Live and Launch. There are some major pro’s for this city: there is a steady influx of young educated workers, a business-friendly banking community, and a lot of local sports entertainment. 

Wachovia and Bank of America have their headquarters here, but the oak-tree-lined city is also a great place to launch and grow a small business.

Regional organizations such as the local Small Business and Technology Development Center, the Inventors Network, and the Central Piedmont Community College's Center for Entrepreneurship supply a mix of mentoring, networking and technical assistance to innovative entrepreneurs, especially those in the finance and technology fields. Charlotte football fans can relax and get ready for some football. The NFL lockout is over, and we’ll be watching preseason games in August. As fans, we are hoping the Panthers have a better season this year. Obviously, the great part of last year’s terrible season is that we get the number one draft pick,  quarterback Cam Newton, and he is happy to be back at training camp.

But there is a heat wave headed to Charlotte, and the NFL training camp might not be a lot of fun some days. Highs of near 100 degrees are expected this week.

Fans who are going to be venturing out of their homes and apartments in Charlotte, NC to head to Wofford University for Panthers' practice will be dealing with 100-degree temperatures and a heat index around 110 degrees. Take plenty of water, and stay in the shade.

We are getting into the CAR-OH-LINA Mood for the weekend.  Our very own North Carolina Panthers will be going head to head with the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, October 31st for the Halloween Game.
