Project in Progress

Have you ever been in the middle of a project and seemed like you couldn’t get any order over your space?  You look up and notice that everything is everywhere.  You’re not the only one, a project in progress needs room to breath.  But when you are not working on your crafts place it in it’s own space and tuck it away nice and neat.

You can use one of the corners in your apartment to group all of your supplies in an orderly fashion.

Tuck it and cover it.  Whether you have boxes, bins or a shelving unit.  You can utilize the space and another opportunity for apartment decor.

Place a coverlet over your craft hideaway area and now what used to be clutter from an on going project has transformed into a decorative table top unit to store your loose craft items.

Whenever you’re ready to begin working on it again, just pull it out and go to work with ease.

Having a dusty apartment does more than just look bad it can also effect your breathing. For some people to much dust can really be detrimental to their health. Okay hear they come… You’ve just got off of work and you realized that you have an appointment at your apartment. Your friends called your phone to let you know that they coming over and they are on the way now. Time is running short!

Think fast but stay calm. Here is a really quick guide for cleaning your apartment so you won’t be caught off guard at the last minute by special guests.

First thing is to make a list of the key locations that need to be hit. In this case, you can skip the bedroom and more private area’s just close the doors. It is good to map out a plan,this will keep you focused and on course.

Figure out how much time you have. How much attention to you need to spend in one area. Hit the most important area’s first, like the living room or the main area that you intend to host in.

Keep the appearance appearing clean. Clean off the surface, spot clean and stack any papers so that things look neat and organized. This is when it is okay to toss clothes in the closet and under the bed. You want things to seem to be cleaner than they actually are.

The main three rooms of any apartment are the kitchen, living room and bathroom. Go over the toilet and counters with just a towel and maybe a little spray. You don’t have to pull out the heavy duty cleaning gear.

The final run through. Now that the bathroom is tidy and the counters and main spaces are in order, fluff up the sofa pillows and give the floor a brisk vacuum. Set the mood with some good music and nice lighting. Good job! With time to spare you’ve just cleaned (or so it seems) your apartment really really quickly.
